4.1. Microsoft Edge Add-on (Extension): Travel Currency Quick-Peek

This clause specifically governs data handling for our "Travel Currency Quick-Peek" Microsoft Edge Add-on (Extension), which is available for download on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store.

Data Processed: When the extension is manually activated, it performs a single network request to a third-party API to fetch the latest exchange rate. This request involves only the minimal technical data required for the connection (such as your IP address and a timestamp), which is processed by the third-party service and is not stored by CheapTrip. The conversion and display of the rate occur entirely client-side within your browser.
Third-Party Service: We use the Frankfurter API (https://api.frankfurter.dev) to provide currency conversion data sourced from the European Central Bank (ECB). The API is free and open-source and does not require an API key or account creation.
Data Collection: The extension does not collect, store, or transfer any sensitive personal data, web browsing history, or personally identifiable information (PII) to CheapTrip or any other third party. Its function is limited to securely retrieving and displaying the currency rate.

4.2. Mozilla Firefox Add-on (Extension): Travel Currency Quick-Peek
